I think a suit should be filed, just like with Gary Granada’s intent to set a legal precedent for composers and artists out of his fiasco with the GMA Kapuso Network, this case, once decided by a court will set a legal precedent upon which bloggers could rely on.

Practically, it will serve as a strong warning to main stream media outfits to respect the IP rights of bloggers.

Perhaps he meant to hex the people involved. In the vernacular, ipabarang. Seriously, there’s poetic justice to be had after all. Blogging is posing a serious threat to the viability of publications and the traditional media. They have to make themselves relevant to survive. Plagiarism is not helping them any.

Well maybe, realistically (as you say). But I disagree. It will not be a waste of time and money because DEE will be compensated if he wins and his attorney’s fees will be recompensed also. A case against plagiarism in court is not a waste of time.

Just a suggestion.. Byahilo.com (Dee) should file suit. I do not know much about legal matters but I do know that if he wins this case, Panay news will be forced to pay him + his attorney’s fees.

is filing a case against them an option? they should pay you! if they don’t curse them! pagerank 5 pa naman yun site nila tapos they’re infringing works that does not belong to them!
