    Hi Blogs,

What I am looking for is something similar to (and approximating the quality of) Arts and Letters Daily (www.aldaily.com) but focusing on articles about the Philippines or written by Filipinos.

It need not be updated daily but it would be nice to read the best of Filipino writing in the web. Somebody who teaches Philippine Studies or Arts in the Philippines would be the ideal “editor” of this section (which could be a feature in this site that you are planning). Alternatively, you can ask your contributors for pointers to interesting articles and an editor can then decide which ones to select.

“Through magic” is the only way one can explain why your parents named you Blogie. Good luck on your newest endeavor.

Thanks for the tip, my friend! It would be great to have that section here – I’ll see what I can do. :)

Meanwhile, why don’t you head on over to Dom’s blog (http://villageidiotsavant.blogspot.com). He’s been busy organizing poetry readings and encouraging budding writers to blog.

This is great idea blogie- a portal for Filipino bloggers in the forefront of blogging about Philippine issues.

Highlighting the pivotal roles of bloggers (and their blogs) in the different issues affecting Filipinos in general is a good way of encouraging bloggers (and probably the only satisfying compensation for their work) to improve and be vigilant in their fields.

My suggestion is, you can create sections, depending on the current or majority issues you wish to tackle, get a section editor to “harmonize” articles and posts.

Again, I fully support you Blogs in this worthwhile and exciting new endeavor.
